Toasted bread with za'atar and olive oil (vegan)

Very simple and quite delicious. A halved bun is toasted in olive oil and then sprinkled with lots of delicious za'atar. A perfect snack when the munchies strike but time or laziness will not allow proper cooking. Enjoy.

Last year: Mini filled paprikas (raw vegan).
Two years ago: Beer lemonade (Radler) with strawberries (vegan).
Three years ago: Baby making and no cooking :).

Ingredients (serves 1):
  • a breakfast bun (or an English muffin)
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 3-4 tablespoons za'atar
  • extra salt to taste (optional)

Slice the bun through its middle. Heat the oil in a pan and toast the bun, cut side down in it, until golden and crispy. Transfer to a serving plate.

Sprinkle with za'atar while they're warm (and extra salt, if using, although it's not really necessary). It's done, dig in! :)
